![]() ![]() These are only visible from up close, so are not as intrusive. THE DIVISION 2 CHARACTER CREATION SKINWhat do they not add? The ability for the existing characters to take any sort of advantage of this! Why not cater to not only newcomers and people who have time and desire to make multiple characters, but also to existing users who have supported your game since launch? Why do we get the shaft? So basically, you're telling me players who spent $60-100 on the regular all the way up to Ultimate Edition, bought WoNY for $30, potentially spent money on premium credits several times, and put in over thousands of hours into their sole character cannot enjoy the new options for character customization because there isn't a feature in this game that allows this, while pretty much any other live-service game you can find on the market today offers this simple feature?ĭoes this make sense in a game that encourages hundreds if not thousands of hours of grinding the meta? It doesn't.Īnother thing that happened with the WoNY expansion, is existing characters had been adjusted with weird skin discolorations and blemishes which weren't there before. Warlords of NY DLC expansion comes out, and guess what? They add new/returning character models from the first Division game, a few more features like the bald style for hair, etc. We have waited a long long time since.Īnd then. ![]() The thread on reddit picked up some views, got over 330 upvotes, an award and was mostly in agreement about this feature. That's when a community representative, who may or may no longer be with the team, replied and said: "the team and I agree, this is something we want to bring to the game, but at a later date, including the ability to change your gender and fully adjust/re-customize your character's appearance (including facial features)." They then said that there are currently more pressing matters - this was around month 1 of the game's launch, so roughly a year and a half ago. That week when the bug happened where people were getting their characters randomly changed without their consent, was when I coincidentally made a post on the main subreddit for the game, about the desire for this feature to allow re-editing of our characters. It's a band-aid for a wound that keeps bleeding. But for many others, including myself and several of my friends, it's just not a solution. ![]() For some players, slapping on a mask and calling it a day was a compromise. The jawline/cheeks are caved in, in a sickly type of way. Several, maybe a hundred or more hours in, that's when I noticed my character looking a bit off. This bug was technically 'fixed', but the poor souls whose characters were transformed into someone else without their consent were never compensated or corrected in any way for this.Īdd to that, the initial character creation screen had different lighting compared to any other location in the game which caused for unexpected results when viewing the character afterwards outside of the initial creator. Basically it completely randomized their character. ![]() Then, within a week or two after launch, a wild appearance bug involving the barber sink at the Base of Operations caused for many players' characters face/body to change, including their gender, skin, eye color and more. The tool came to be not as detailed as most would've liked, but regardless, it was an improvement of sorts over the original. Regardless of the issues it has gone through, and despite some of the aggravating decisions, the game is still an enjoyable experience for many people and I believe an evolution from The Division 1.īack when it came out, members of the Division community of players, many fans of the original and newcomers, were piqued by the idea of facial sliders, and overall more customization in creating your character. The Division 2 is a fantastic overall military-style third person looter shooter. ![]()
